Support is needed to help cover the costs of NEW 10-day textile artist internships. The program, which will begin in 2026, aims to support mid-career makers who seek to learn more about their materials and explore opportunities to go deeper into the textile industry.

Sara Bauer was the producer of the well-loved Yarns at Yin Hoo podcast, where her thoughtful voice, creativity, and sense of wonder touched countless makers. Sara shared her time and talents generously with the Hudson Valley Textile Project, serving on our Advisory Committee and supporting our work from the early days. Naming our new internship program for Sara is not only a celebration of her work — it’s a way to carry forward the light she brought into our fiber community.

Help Make HVTP’s Farm to Market Projects a SUCCESS!

Great progress is being made on strengthening the local fiber supply chain. In 2023, the Hudson Valley Textile Project (HVTP) established Clean Fleece New York - a non-profit, commercial-scale Regional Scouring Facility. HVTP received grants from FuzeHub, Empire Sheep Producers Assoc., and the Workforce Development Institute. to support Clean Fleece. HVTP members and over 300 supporters got the facility going with their generous Go Fund Me contributions.

Now we are in the start-up stage for a new wool warehouse called NEFX - the Northeast Fiber Exchange that is buying, sorting, aggregating, and marketing wool from farms across the Northeast.

HVTP is working with other organizations in the new NY Fashion Innovation Center (NYFIC) consortium to provide support to farmers, designers, manufacturers, and others working in the supply chain. The NYFIC received a five year grant from Empire State Development in Sept. 2023 which will help to cover some aspects of HVTP’s new wool warehouse, but that funding is limited in what things it can pay for.

Your donation now will give us the much-needed resources we need to develop educational programming, participate in farm to market events, and create and share communications about opportunities.

Please tell a friend or consider supporting HVTP through the matching funds program at your work - HVTP is a 501c3 non-profit.

Anything you can give will help!
